Occasionally, you may receive an Internal Server Error message when attempting to add a Service Contact to an existing case.
Typically, this error loads if attempting to add a service contact to a case from 1) Filing History 2) Bookmarks or 3) File Into Existing Case search results. This error loads if the site is unable to load the latest information for the case, causing the service contacts to fail to save/update to the case.
To resolve, you can start a filing into the case. Upload a filing in the Filings portion of the draft and proceed to the Service Contacts section after saving the filing. From here, proceed to add the Service Contact(s) again. Starting a filing into the case allows the eFile site to check for the latest party information for the case, which allows the contacts to be added without error.
Note: Once the service contact(s) are added, you do not need to submit the filing draft you have started. You can simply exit the draft and/or delete the draft from your Filing History.
