In certain states like Georgia, a $25 fee is initially assessed to the party responsible for the fees.
- If someone in your Firm Account has already filed and selected themselves as the Party Responsible for Fees, choosing a different party will result in another $25 charge. You must consistently select the same party responsible for fees to avoid incurring this additional charge.
- This issue can also be caused if the legal professional filing into the case left the original Firm Account that paid the Per Party fee and joined a different Firm Account.
- This issue can also be caused if a filer pays the One-Time, Per Party fee in person at the court, then tries to file into the case later via the efile website. The website will not have any record of the payment made in person and will charge the filer again. The filer must contact the court after filing into the case online to obtain a refund for the fee.
- This can also happen to either Firm or Individual filers if the court makes any changes to the initial filings that may incur this filing fee again. You must contact the court clerks to obtain a refund for the $25 fee after filing.
Please Note: If you've made multiple filings and paid the fee multiple times without noticing, refunds cannot be issued by Tyler Technologies. Once submissions are accepted by the court, Technical Support cannot reimburse you. You must contact the court you filed into to obtain refunds.
