Each time you click the "Submit" button, the courts place a pre-authorization hold on your payment account for the amount listed in your Envelope Total. An authorization hold will appear as a pending charge on your bank statement.
When a filing is Rejected, Cancelled or has a Submission Failure, the pending authorization hold is NOT captured. Most banks and financial institutions require 3 to 14 business days before those funds can be released, depending on their policies surrounding authorization holds*.
If you correct and resubmit your filing, this will place a new authorization hold on your account once you submit it back to the court. If you resubmit your corrected filing before the first hold drops, you will see two charges on your statement until your bank releases the first hold.
*When a hold is released for a Rejection, Cancellation, or Submission Failure, this will not post as a credit or refund to your bank account/statement. The pending charge will simply fall off of your statement, and will no longer appear in your purchase history.
