The Return Date section will be included whenever filing in Cook county and must be filled before proceeding to submission. This date sets the deadline that the Defendant/Respondent must respond by. In this section, click the 'Verify' button, at which point the date will auto-populate to the earliest date available per the court rules for your selected Case Type. You can then change this to a later date if needed.
If upon clicking 'Verify' no date is provided and the box is labeled as "Return date not applicable", the court rules for your case type do not use this function. If you believe this to be in error, you will need to contact the court you are filing into for assistance.
