To learn more about paying for either Court Copies or Certified Copies of documents via the eFile website, please view the instructions below.
NOTE: These copies come from the court that you will file your document request into. The court will have more information on the status of your document requests.
CERTIFIED COPIES
Some filings require the filer to request certified copies of judgments or other legal documents.
Certified copies are one of the many Optional Services and Fees a filer may add to their filing in the Filings section of their drafts. To learn how to add an Optional Service, please refer to the help articles below.
Once you have opened the Optional Services and Fees menu in the Filings section, select one of the Certified Copy options available in the menu (see the screenshot below), then click the Save Changes button at the bottom right of the Filings section to continue to either the Service Contacts section or Fees section.
COURT COPIES
The eFile website is not a document access website but certain courts will instruct users to eFile a request for court records.
First, you will need to create your request letter, ex. “Filing this letter to request copies of my case.”
Note:You may want to reach out to the law library attached to the court you are filing into for more information on exactly what this letter should contain.
Then you would file into your case through the eFile system, to upload your request letter as the lead document and add the copy fees (must verify the fee amount from the court) from the optional service fees menu.
Note: Your copies will not be on the efile site to download. You will need to reach out to the court to find out how your documents will be delivered to you.
